About us (But Really this section should be called – About You shouldn’t it? But this is what people expect…)

jandc

We are Jake and Cornelis; two guys who are nuts about telling the world how to do referral marketing because we want your money to work HARD for you. We’ve seen too much money wasted in our collective experience working in banks, planning global campaigns for multi-nationals and building companies from scratch with no budget. We’ve been in blue-chips and set up tiny companies – so we know both sides of the fence. New Ideas in big companies are just small companies in disguise – that’s why it’s so relevant. We’ve been Directors of Marketing, Advertising and Research Companies. We’ve ticked all the boxes you’d expect and some you haven’t.

So this is the bit that hopefully ticks some expected boxes – Our Vision, Why Us? Referrals (don’t laugh) and Feedback:

Our Mission and Vision: Here’s the obligatory ‘peep into our soul:

Our mission is to assist businesses globally to double their growth by teaching them and assisting them with the implementation of our powerful proven Referral Marketing System.

Why Us? Here’s why we think we are better than anyone else in the world at what we do…

Specialist agencies in the US have sprung up who service this area. Some are good at product sampling, others give great Word of Mouth Tips, while others are great at ‘building online communities…’ it’s a bits and pieces industry.

Unlike The Village Square however, no company has an integrated system for creating referral networks – they focus on the pieces of the pie rather than the whole piece. We are the ONLY ONES who have created an all incorporating system, The Village Square System™ that gives people a Pathway to creating a self generating referral system.

Since we are in the Referral Business here are some Referrals:

Referrals (Ha, Ha, Ha)

Here’s the thing – have you ever been to a website with referrals that didn’t rave about the company? We wanted this to feel real for you.

Well here’s the truth – we have fans, raving fans and we also have people who didn’t like the message of Referral Marketing because it made them feel scared…because embracing something new is a process. And unlike most companies we aren’t going to put shiny gloss on everything. So this is what we’ve done:

Here are the shiny referrals

“Like many NZ corporates, it’s a David and Goliath battle – we needed to figure out how to make our marketing dollar work harder than the competitors. That is why we turned to Jake Pearce and Cornelis Boertjens from The Village Square. They are the experts on WOM and Community Marketing. Because of their unique combined set of skills (Cornelis has built a global business using only referral marketing and Jake has an extensive background in breakthrough marketing strategy and training) we got them to work with us on our WOM and Community Marketing Strategy helping us navigate new waters that none of has a lot of experience in. The Village Square will make sure that you are getting the best out of your marketing dollar, period.” – Richard Stevens, Auckland, New Zealand – Global Marketing Manager, Fisher & Paykel

“Cornelis is one of the most creative entrepreneurs that I have met. He is extremely personable and understands the power of personal development in the business arena.” – Joyce Schwarz, Los Angeles, USA – Entrepreneur and Business Woman of the Year 2007

“I have worked with Cornelis over the last few years on several projects here in the US and he is one of the most progressive Marketers I have ever come across. Cornelis has the unique skill of identifying what exactly is efficient marketing that guarantees any organization maximum ROI on their marketing dollars spend. I wish him all the best implementing this knowledge in to New Zealand businesses, as you have done so well here in the US.” – Joe Heller, Houston, Texas – Sales Consultant

And if you want to know if your company culture is right for Referral Marketing – call us – we’ll give you an honest answer because we know when it is and when it isn’t, straight up.
